Unleash your potential and #MakeADifference!Operating from within the Field and Compliance Team of the Resources Engagement, Assessment and Compliance Hub within Georesources Delivery, you will be involved in carrying out field access and compliance activities with a particular focus on compliance relating to mineral and energy resources (petroleum and gas, coal, minerals, small scale mining and fossicking) activities in Queensland in line with the government's priorities.There are two flexible full-time positions available: 1 x Permanent & 1 x Fixed-Term Temporary until 30/9/2027.About UsThe Department of Natural Resources, Mines, Manufacturing, and Regional Development drives sustainable growth and prosperity.

We strengthen regional and rural economies by supporting job creation, diversification, and infrastructure development, collaborating closely with local communities to address their unique needs.About The RoleIn this role you will:Perform the functions of an Authorised Officer under Queensland Resources Acts and Regulations including the Mineral Resources Act 1989, Petroleum and Gas (Production & Safety) Act 2004, Mineral and Energy Resources (Common Provisions) Act 2014, and Fossicking Act 1994.Conduct audits, inspections and investigations to monitor and enforce compliance with legislation and resources permit conditions.
Take or recommend appropriate enforcement actions where required in accordance with the compliance policies.Assist with formal and informal mediation, consultation and negotiation with stakeholders in mining operations, compliance and land access issues.Undertake desktop assessments of mining tenures to provide information to internal and external clients to support tenure administration or compliance activities.Gather evidence, prepare inspection and investigation reports to a professional standard.Interpret and apply legislation to resolve issues relating to mining operations, compliance and land access.Provide advice and information in relation to resource activities to a broad range of clients and stakeholders.Maintain up-to-date knowledge about legislation, policies, procedures and protocols relating to minerals and energy resources in Queensland.Maintain a high level of knowledge of departmental information systems and databases to ensure required information is captured and recorded.Assist where required in the formulation and revision of legislation, policies and procedures.Other duties as required by the Supervisor or Manager.Why join us?We are committed to being a workplace that focusses on people.
