Job Description The Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning is looking for student workers to place at off-campus organizations for the fall/spring semesters. THIS IS AN OFF-CAMPUS COLLEGE WORK-STUDY POSITION. There are two types of positions that students may fill as participants in the Community Work-Study and Internship program:
Elementary Math, Science, or Reading Tutor Community Engagement Intern DUTIES Generally, tutors will work in educational settings (schools or a non-profit) to help elementary school students better comprehend math, science, or reading. Community engagement interns will hold internship positions within a local non-profit in an area related to their academic major or specific interests. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interest in community issues, engagement, and social justice. Ability to work cooperatively and in a leadership role. Organizational skills. Qualifications Must be a current UHD student. Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours. Must have a work-study award from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Required Attachments by Candidate: Resume, Financial Aid Award Letter, Class Schedule
