Job Description - Federal Work-Study, Content Creator Assistant (STU002022) Description The Department of Student Success & Student Life is in need of multimedia assistance with social media, graphic design, and web management. Specifically, this includes assisting with the content creation and marketing efforts of all 3SL activities and editing our website.
Knowledge of HTML and Bootstrap coding is not a requirement but a plus.Must be available to work Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM, up to 20 hours weekly.Duties Assist full-time staff in coordinating and facilitating photoshoots, video shoots, and web content management.Initiate and implement promotional and marketing efforts related to social media.Engage with peer students to create original content for various platforms.Assist with website edits and updates.Create original text, photos, graphics, and videos for both web and print media.Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content on 3SL social media pages to enhance engagement with students, the university community, and external stakeholders.Support video shoots and photoshoots as needed.Office duties include data entry, answering phone calls, filing, running errands, greeting visitors, and other administrative tasks as assigned.Participate in occasional staff meetings, special events, and university/division-sponsored events.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interest in social media content creation, video production, photography, and graphic editing.Ability to maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor at all times.Must be dependable, outgoing, and a team player.Excellent customer service skills; must be helpful and approachable.Comfortable wearing staff apparel and maintaining a clean, professional appearance.Qualifications Must be a current UHD student with a 2.5 GPA.Must have been awarded Federal Work-Study from the Office of Financial Aid.Must be willing or able to work afternoons, weeknights, and weekends depending on the program schedules.About University of Houston Downtown Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is the second-largest university in Houston and has served the educational needs of the nation's fourth-largest city since 1974.
