About the job: Senior Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Accountant to join the Finance Department of a leading gaming and hospitality organization. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary.
Responsibilities: Maintain the general ledger and fixed asset register to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Deliver month-end reconciliations and assist in preparing year-end financial statements. Liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes. Prepare and deliver monthly management reports and ad hoc financial analyses. Support payroll processing and review to ensure compliance with statutory obligations. Assist with budgeting processes and internal financial planning. Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including Superannuation, payroll tax, BAS, FBT, and income tax. Develop, maintain, and monitor compliance with Standard Operating Procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address financial issues and provide actionable recommendations. Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accountancy, or a related discipline. Membership with CA or CPA is essential. Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in accounting roles, either in a firm or commercial environment. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in financial systems such as MYOB Acumatica or similar platforms. Advanced knowledge of Office 365, particularly Excel, for financial reporting and analysis. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with management and executive teams. Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines. Strong understanding of statutory obligations and compliance, including tax-related requirements. Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
