The Role HDR is looking for a Commissioning Manager to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team. This position will be based out of Melbourne Office and will lead commissioning teams on projects.
Your time will be divided between project management, strengthening client relationships and driving day-to-day business operations and will give you the opportunity to build relationships with some of our most unique clients. You will play a critical role in getting to know their mission, vision, culture and goals, with the objective of collaborating on unrivalled building commissioning solutions.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
Maintaining and improving our relationship with our clients, manage the scope and look for opportunities to provide additional services that would benefit our clients. Identifying, monitoring and supporting attainment of net fee booked plans by driving consistent communication across the organisation, in coordination with the commissioning practice leaders. Assisting and collaborating within the commissioning sector and with other sector and service leaders in defining opportunities and engagement strategies for clients. Serving as a key client manager for selected clients. Driving the identification and development of new business opportunities in the commissioning market, including strategy for positioning, proposing, and presenting on business development campaigns. Undertaking technical assessments of project schedules, drawings, manuals, and technical submittals. Developing commissioning implementation plan, schedules, reports, checklists, and test scripts. Providing technical advice to clients in respect of project and operational risk. Working closely with general contractor's team in developing commissioning strategies and processes which align fully with project objectives. Managing attendance and reporting of factory tests. Undertaking and reporting of inspections and tests. Attending project and internal meetings as needed. Managing detailed recording of meetings. Recording of detailed progress pre-requisites. Routine population and management of data in project commissioning software. Providing routine progress reporting and final project close out report. Arranging third party sign off as necessary. Other ad hoc tasks as directed. About You Relevant tertiary qualifications (university or tafe) Green Star AP, LEED AP, CSA or LEED Associate – highly advantageous Significant, demonstrated experience in commissioning or facility engineering, preferably working in Data Centre / Health sectors. Experience with equipment inspections Experience with Factory Witness Test / Factory Acceptance Tests Willing to travel to site based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Required Qualifications 4 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines Proven ability to lead commissioning efforts from design through project completion Should have a passion for sustainability and knowledge of the commissioning process and experience with design, installation and operation of building systems (including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and controls) Must be willing to travel every week and as long as necessary; duration and frequency of travel will depend on HDR needs Must have demonstrated ability to troubleshoot HVAC, TAB, and Controls and have excellent report writing skills Must have a solid understanding of operational requirements, safety requirements, code inspections and maintenance considerations Strong written, verbal communication and time management skills; exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interact with people at all levels Technical knowledge of MEP systems and HVAC expertise Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Multitasking ability Valid driver's license An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
