Make a real difference in the lives of primary producers in the Northern Rivers Earn a competitive salary with salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 to boost your take-home pay! Full-time and Part-time Opportunities! Be part of an awesome team supporting rural businesses and communities Who We Are
We're the Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW - Northern Region (RFCSNR), a not-for-profit organisation that's all about helping rural businesses thrive. Through our charity, Regional Business Support Ltd, we're funded by the Australian and NSW Governments to provide financial counselling to rural communities across Northern NSW.
We believe in being where the action is, so our team is embedded in the very communities we serve. And starting in September 2024, we're kicking off an exciting new project—Farm Business Wellness Coach . This service, alongside our Rural Financial Counsellors, is all about offering holistic support—helping primary producers manage both their finances and their mental wellbeing. It's a game-changer for rural communities, and we're thrilled to be leading this transformative project!
What You'll Be Doing
We're looking for a Wellness Coach to join us full-time in Lismore and part-time in Grafton, NSW .
This role is about case management and generalist support, providing emotional support alongside our Rural Financial Counsellors (RFCs). You'll offer guidance, make referrals, and provide critical early intervention support—but this isn't about providing therapy or mental health treatment .
Here's what you'll be doing:
Provide short-term, goal-oriented psychological interventions for vulnerable and disadvantaged adults, children, and families needing primary mental health services. Conduct mental health assessments and interventions using evidence-based practice and provide reports to relevant stakeholders. Be the point of escalation for Rural Financial Counsellors when clients need more than just financial advice—ensuring clients with higher risk or emotional stress get the help they need. Create referral pathways for clients whose needs go beyond the scope of the wellness program, ensuring they receive comprehensive support. Assess and manage risk by using holistic assessments and safety planning to make sure clients' wellbeing is addressed beyond the general support the financial counsellors provide. Keep accurate and organised clinical records to maintain high standards of client care. What We're Looking For
We need someone with the right experience, and passion for making a real impact. While the below qualifications are preferred, we value experience and the ability to hit the ground running even more.
Here's what we're after:
Current AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal Health Worker, Psychologist or Provisionally Registered Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, or Occupational Therapist (accredited with OTA for mental health). OR accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker (or the eligibility to work towards it). Demonstrated experience in comprehensive mental health assessments and developing intervention plans with clients and their families. Strong skills in delivering holistic, evidence-based therapeutic services. What we really value:
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills —especially when it comes to clinical record-keeping. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Experience with small business operations, especially in rural areas. Willingness to engage in professional development and outreach activities. What's In It For You
Earn a Competitive Salary (negotiable based on qualifications and experience) PLUS Salary packaging perks up to $18,550 p.a. But that's just the start—you'll also get:
4 weeks of Annual Leave . Access to Company Pool Car for work related purposes. Phone and Laptop provided so you're all set up. Flexible working arrangements (including part-time options). Professional development and mentoring opportunities. The chance to make a real difference in rural communities, with a supportive team by your side! Ready to Make a Difference?
If you're ready to bring your skills and passion to a role where you'll make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you! Help primary producers and their families overcome challenges and thrive. Apply NOW!
