We have a hard-working team of 18 and strive to foster an environment where everyone is treated fairly and with respect. We are deeply committed to the training and development of our staff, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to grow and succeed.
We believe in the human side of business, maintaining a strong commitment to both our staff and our livestock with the highest standards of care and welfare. Our dairy business milks 1,500 cows comprising three dairy farms and two runoff properties, the later rearing replacements and fodder production.
Role Overview We are looking for a hands-on Farm Operations Manager with a positive attitude to join our team. You will lead and manage all farm operations, balancing daily tasks with long-term planning to ensure our farm's success in a dynamic and challenging environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work between 38 - 50 hours per week to meet seasonal requirements. Generally, these hours will be worked over 5 - 5.5 days per week, Monday - Sunday on a rotating roster.
The minimum salary offered for this role is $85,000 plus superannuation. The final salary offered will be based on the skills, experience and value the successful candidate can bring to the role. We also offer a spacious 4-bedroom home for your comfort and convenience as part of a comprehensive package.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Manage daily dairy production activitiesDevelop farm plans and strategies with managementLead and delegate tasks to the farming teamTrain and mentor team membersMaintain equipment and machineryOversee inventory managementKeep detailed records of financial, personnel, livestock, and machinery dataEnsure safety and health standards are metSolve problems proactivelyCommunicate and collaborate with the teamNegotiate and work proactively with contractors, consultants, and suppliersWhat we're looking for Experience with livestock managementHigh commitment to animal welfareProven leadership and people management skillsStrong attention to detailAbility to oversee farm operationsGood at documentation, recording, and reportingSkilled in pasture monitoring and productionExperience in irrigation managementGreat interpersonal skills and a "people person" attitudeStrong managerial skills, able to delegate and step in when neededStrict adherence to high standards, no cutting cornersQualifications/experience required An Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate III, or equivalent qualifications as assessed by a registered training organisation, and demonstrate at least 2 years of recent and relevant work experience, or at least 3 years of recent and relevant work experienceHow to apply
