About the Business Unit: Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is a part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination Division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
VSSR is responsible for coordinating services for victims of crime, including an information, support, and referral service through the Victims of Crime Helpline.
The Helpline offers information, support, and referrals, linking victims to services and ensuring they receive personalized support to manage the effects of violent crime.
It operates 7 days per week from 8am to 11pm in the Melbourne CBD.
About the Role: Reporting to the Senior Family Violence Practice Lead, the Family Violence Practice Lead (FVPL) is tasked with developing and supporting family violence practice across the Helpline team, ensuring quality services for Victorian family violence victim-survivors.
Some of your duties will include:
Providing leadership, direction, and coaching to the Helpline team for high-quality service delivery to male victims of family violence.Monitoring and supporting the family violence service response, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.Contributing to a culture of excellence and best practice, ensuring industry-leading support for victims of crime.About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
At least four years of experience in the family violence sector or with victims of crime.Knowledge and experience in rigorous approaches to intake assessment, referral, and risk assessment in a family violence context.Experience in providing ongoing services to victims of crime, informed by best practice models.Mandatory Qualifications: A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification; alignment with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Workers.Completion of the MARAM Framework with knowledge of risk assessments and predominant aggressor identification.Desirable Qualifications: Training in cultural competence and frameworks for supporting diverse communities.Familiarity with case management software and reporting tools.How to Apply: Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
