About the role The VACCA Family Violence Program provides advocacy, referral and support to Aboriginal women and their children who are experiencing family violence. A range of support options are available that may include short-, medium- and long-term casework. As a key member of the Family Violence Team, you will support the team with the key functions of the program.
About You An awareness and understanding of family violence issues and the impacts on women, children and families in an Aboriginal context. The ability to apply a flexible, non-judgmental and empowering approach to service delivery. Knowledge of local family violence programs, accommodation, legal, health and community services within the region – or the ability to acquire that knowledge. Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and a comprehensive understanding of the MARAM framework, Rating of this position: Comprehensive, Tier Level 1. Previous experience in the Family Violence sector. Requirements: A tertiary qualification in Social Work, or a related discipline, or a willingness to work towards an equivalent qualification. Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain), and a Victorian Driver Licence.
