The Department of Health is seeking a Family Violence Counsellor for the Children and Young Persons Program to join the Family Violence Service NW Team.
The role: Assist children and young people to recover from their experience of family violence trauma through the delivery of evidence-based and family violence trauma-informed therapeutic counselling and support, using a range of developmental and age-appropriate techniques and tools.Contribute to and participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of group programs.Provide information, support, referral, and advice to clients and other service providers.Assess and monitor the ongoing needs of the children and young people accessing the service in relation to safety and stability in the context of family violence.Identify, develop, provide, or purchase the services required to meet the needs of children and families and support the child's care team, parents/carers, and other professionals as necessary.The Team: The Department of Health is seeking a Family Violence Counsellor to join the Family Violence Counselling and Support Services - Child and Young Person Program (CHYPP).

Details of Appointment: Allied Health Professional, Level 1-2
Permanent, part-time, day worker position working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding, hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $71,441 to $107,878 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registration with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership or eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association.Current Working with Children Registration.Desirable criteria: Current Driver's Licence.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job must satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion, or transfer.
