About the role This position is situated within MacKillop Family Services South West Emergency Care for Children (SWECC) Program. This program is responsible for providing in-home practical support and childcare services to families in crisis in locations across the South West of Western Australia.  The Family Support Worker provides home-based emergency care to children within the family and provides practical supports to families in crisis. Working under the direction of the Team Leader to provide regular in-home, practical and emotional support to families in crisis.  This is a Causal opportunity based in South West Region Bunbury within our South West Emergency Care for Children (SWECC) Program. The position reports to the SWECC Team Leader. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have: Demonstrated experience working with at vulnerable and risk families and children to address practical issues within a home, including the emergency care of children.   Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.   A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families. Tertiary or TAFE qualifications in Community Services, Child Care or a related discipline.  Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.
