The Salvation Army offers the opportunity to use your professional skills and expertise to make a real difference in the lives of people who need help most.What the role looks like The Salvation Army works as one team with a person centred, safe and coordinated approach to service delivery to ensure the best outcomes for all who seek our assistance.The position is responsible and accountable for supporting the delivery to women and their accompanying children affected by domestic and family abuse and/or experiencing homelessness to achieve housing stability, improve social inclusion and be equipped for participation in the wider community.Those activities include;Support the case management team in the ongoing implementation of case management plans and create a therapeutic environment with the crisis accommodation setting.Work within a client focused, trauma informed frameworkRespond to emergency situationsBuild effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of CareAdhere to the Family Violence Stream vision, mission and values and that of TSA and contributes to a collaborative approach within the team.We have multiple casual Family Support Worker roles based in Karratha. These roles require the successful candidate to work within in a variety of shifts times examples are 7:00am-3:00pm or 8:00am-4:00pm (Depending on the day), 2:00pm -10:00pm and sleepover starting at 7:00pm finishing at 8:00amThe role requires you toClients accessing the service are provided with a welcoming and responsive initial contact and urgent and immediate needs are addressedIn consultation with more senior worker/s appropriate preventative action is taken in relation to potential high risk situationsInformation is provided to assist in assessing and addressing client issues, needs and circumstancesEffective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and support them to improve their situationAs directed, support is provided to clients to implement case plans in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practiceClients are actively encouraged to engage in the implementation of case plansClients are assisted to access support servicesActivities are monitored and clearly communicated to relevant staff for handoverWhat you will bringAssociate diploma with relevant experience; or relevant certificate with relevant experience, or experience attained through previous appointments, services and/or study of an equivalent level of expertise and/or experience to undertake the range of activities required.Relevant experience with family & domestic violence and homelessness.Mandatory National Police CheckCurrent WA Drivers licenceCurrent First Aid Certificate with CPRWorking with Children's Check?What we offerMaybe eligible to NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefits  Employee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service Financial, retail and lifestyle discounts and benefitsDiscounted health and fitness programs through Fitness PassportUp to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave schemeGenerous Parental Leave offering of 12 weeksUp to 5 days paid leave per year to support a TSA program or activityAn inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team membersPositively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution
