The AFSW ensures cultural safety across the Centre and throughout the program, contributing to program planning and implementation.
Congress has a strong focus on cultural safety and working within a bi-cultural model. The AFSW is critical to ensuring the program at the Congress CHaD Centre will deliver supportive, culturally appropriate primary healthcare and build on existing positive relationships with Aboriginal families to ensure; regular family engagement, increased enrolments, and increased children's participation and attendance.
To be considered for this position, you will require: Identifies an Aboriginal person; recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community. Willing to commence study of a minimum Certificate III in Children's Services or equivalent as recognised by ACECQA, and sufficient knowledge or experience in working in a multidisciplinary team. Proven experience in providing effective support to Aboriginal Children in a learning and health development environment and their families.
