An exciting opportunity has become available for the right candidate to join 54 Reasons within our Secondary Family Support Program.
The Family Support Specialist role works with families and children, providing Case Management services with the aim of achieving positive and sustainable long-term change for children and young people. 54 Reasons is Australia's leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit. With the child's voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident.
In this part time (9 day fortnight), maximum term role (through to end of December 2024, with potential for extension), you'll work as part of our Secondary Family Support team in Brisbane to help us create lasting change for children everywhere.
The Family Support Specialist plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children.
You will make a difference by: Using a Case Management Framework to address any identified barriers families may be facing in the areas of housing, parenting capacity, community supports, education and child development.Developing rapport and positive working relationships with family members in line with our practice frameworks, specifically our Cultural Framework and Child Protection Practice Framework.Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed and child-centred approach to develop case management goals and support families to work toward these goals, making referrals to other services where appropriate.Bringing your best every day means: A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or another relevant Human Services Degree, or significant equivalent experience.Experience working with families, children and young people.Experience providing case management to people of diverse backgrounds, including children and young people.Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).Current Driver's Licence.Applications Close: Wednesday 16th October 2024.
