In this part-time permanent position (30.4 hours per week) based in Brisbane, you'll work within a team to provide crisis responses to women and children escaping violence. You'll provide risk assessment and safety planning as well as some case management and referral-based supports within a refuge setting. Reporting to the Team Leader, you'll work within a rotational roster Monday – Sunday between 8am & 8pm. We value maintaining a healthy work life balance and have incorporated considerations to support this.

Please note: the role attracts some minimal rostered on-call responsibilities for all staff members.

You will make a difference by:

Facilitating the provision of safe accommodation to women and children escaping domestic and family violence

Conducting thorough risk and needs assessments, within a trauma informed, Safe and Together case management framework

Working with families to source appropriate, safe and sustainable accommodation free from violence and/or connecting families with services to meet their needs

Working collaboratively with a team of specialists to provide best-practice, integrated responses to DFV

You're an experienced practitioner with high levels of initiative and flexibility alongside cultural sensitivity and knowledge. You're able to respond calmly and effectively in crisis and complex situations. Importantly, you possess a thorough understanding of the impact of domestic violence on women and children and can apply that within a trauma-informed practice framework. We recognise your contribution and provide you the support to ensure you can bring your best, knowing here you have the space and opportunity to grow.

This role requires:

A Bachelor/Diploma of Social Work, Psychology or relevant Human Service Qualification and/or significant experience in a similar service

Knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence, including the impact on children

Experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Current driver's licence
