Family Safety Worker - Men's Behaviour ChangePlus Community, a proud part of Housing Plus, has been providing community services to Regional NSW for nearly 20 years. We are dedicated to offering a comprehensive range of support services designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and their families. Our services include Domestic and Family Violence Support, Employment Support, Homelessness Support, Post Release Support, and Housing Support through Housing Plus.

Housing Plus currently delivers Men's Behaviour Change (MBC) interventions to men who have used violence against their families, and we are thrilled to have recently been awarded a new contract to expand these services into the Lithgow region.
We are currently seeking a Family Safety Worker to support the victim/survivors (including children where appropriate) of our male participants in the Lithgow area. Support includes case planning, advocacy, risk management, safety planning, and assistance in accessing victims support services.
An integral part of the role is using information obtained from the facilitators who are working with men, to help the victim/survivors in achieving safety and wellbeing.
The successful applicant will be supported to participate in specialist training and ongoing supervision with industry experts.
To be successful, you will have: Significant experience in community services or domestic violence interventionsDemonstrated understanding of domestic and family violence, and dynamic risk factorsDemonstrated skills in individual assessment and interventions including case planningA strong commitment to reflective practice, self-awareness and understandingAbility to network and share information and develop relationships with community stakeholdersProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookAn ability to adapt service delivery methods to meet client needsWillingness to travel occasionally for the purposes of study/attendance at sector development eventsExperience with domestic violence interventions, drug and alcohol interventions, child protection work, mental health, or the justice system, an understanding of disabilities (particularly cognitive impairments) and relevant qualifications in community services or similar will be highly regarded.
You will need a Current Driver's Licence and willingness to obtain a Police Check and Working with Children Check.

This is a full time (38 hours per week, Monday to Friday) Maximum Term Contract until 30th June 2026. This role can be based from Lithgow or Bathurst and flexible work is available.
The Family Safety Worker is classified as a Level 5.1 under the SCHADS Award, which equates to $97,639 gross per annum. This will increase on an annual basis in line with the pay points in the Award. As Housing Plus is a Not for Profit organisation, we have access to excellent salary sacrifice options to increase your take home pay!
