About headspace
headspace are a busy and innovative youth mental health service providing a variety of mental health, medical, sexual and other health related services as well as vocational, functional groups and social services to young people aged 12 to 25 years and their families.
About the Opportunity
The Family Mental Health Clinician sits within the headspace Early Psychosis program and supports families who have a young person receiving care with the Early Psychosis team. You will be responsible for family focused clinical support within a group and individual family/support context and support staff in building their capacity to work with families. Additionally, you will oversee our Family Lived Experience Worker program, ensuring that families receive comprehensive and empathetic support.
To be successful in this role you will have:

Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health discipline and current membership with AHPRA, or eligibility of membership of to the AASW standards for social workers. Postgraduate qualifications in Family Therapy and/or family counselling is highly beneficial
Demonstrated experience working with individuals, families, and groups, specifically those with a range of emotional, social or developmental difficulties, preferably also with those who have experienced psychosis and alcohol and other drug issues
Excellent clinical mental health skills in engagement, assessment, holistic care, crisis response, care coordination and recovery
Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their families, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations
