All jobs can be worked flexibly, and we encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.If you're having any trouble viewing this ad and would like it or any attachments in an accessible format (such as large print), please don't hesitate to get in touch with the contact person listed on the ad.THE ROLEFamily Group Conference ConvenorThe Family Group Conference Convenor will play a critical role in supporting vulnerable families to make decisions and develop and implement plans about the care and safety of their children following involvement with the Child Protection program to strengthen their engagement with services, and to divert families from further statutory involvement including the need for legal intervention.The establishment of this position is part of a Family Group Conference pilot funded by the Victorian Government which will operate in a number of sites across the state.The position will work closely with vulnerable families, service providers, other professionals and the broader child protection workforce to support best outcomes for vulnerable children.The position will require high-level written and verbal communication skills, highly developed policy and stakeholder engagement skills, and an ability to be responsive to tasks including the provision of responses in a timely manner and will be required to contribute to a variety of work priorities within the unit.This role may at times be required to operate outside normal office hours (at night).ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDEThe Family Group Conference Convenor will have specific responsibility for working closely with vulnerable families, service providers, other professionals and the broader child protection workforce to improve outcomes for children known to the Child Protection Program.The position will involve planning, preparing for and convening family group conferences to facilitate family-led decision-making, and the development of a plan to support families to keep children safe, engaged with services and reduce the likelihood of further child protection involvement.It will play a critical role in the implementation and oversight of the Family Group Conference model pilot and will focus and input into service improvement and review.A SPECIAL MEASURE PROVISION APPLIES TO THIS ROLEThe Equal Opportunity Act 2010 provides for lawful 'Special Measure' provisions, therefore the following has been applied to this role.
