The Family Relationship Centre (FRC) provides Family and Property Dispute Resolution services.
These services may be provided in the FRC or other locations according to the needs of clients and communities.
The Family Dispute Resolution program aims to assist separating parents and families in reaching agreements on parenting arrangements in the best interests of children.
Property Dispute Resolution assists separating couples in reaching agreements regarding their property pool, including debt.
Both services support families in resolving disputes as an alternative to court.
The Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner's role is to provide high-quality dispute resolution, including intake, assessment, support, referral advice, and mediation to clients of the Shepparton Family Relationship Centre.
We are seeking a qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner; however, someone with transferable skills and a willingness to undertake the relevant study with the support of CatholicCare Victoria may be considered as a Family Relationship Advisor.
Responsibilities include: Providing information and assistance to individuals/couples/family members seeking help with relationship and separation issues.
Facilitating referrals to appropriate services and organizations.
Assisting family members in developing and implementing safety plans when screening for family violence.
Participating in Family Dispute Resolution sessions to help separated parents reach child-focused agreements.
Participating in other dispute services as required, including child-inclusive mediation.
Required Skills & Experience: Recognised tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Family Law, or a related discipline.
Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution, including registration with the Attorney-General's department, or a willingness to undertake with support from CatholicCare Victoria.
Relevant training and experience to conduct Property Dispute Resolution or willingness to complete appropriate training.
Thorough and comprehensive intake and assessment skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of referral networks for separating families.
Understanding of the impact of family violence, including the ability to identify and assess at an intermediate level.
Demonstrated understanding of family dispute resolution theory and practice.
