MacKillop Family Services is seeking a passionate and experienced Family Connect and Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality intake, referral, outreach, and case coordination services to those in need, ensuring that children, young people, and families receive the support they need to thrive. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with local services and make a meaningful impact in the community.
About the Role: This part-time (0.5 EFT) role is based in Queanbeyan and you will be at the forefront of connecting vulnerable children, young people, and families with the right services in their local area. Your role will involve managing a caseload, providing culturally competent services, and building strong relationships with both government and non-government agencies. You will play a crucial role in promoting child wellbeing, preventing crises, and fostering supportive environments.
Key Responsibilities: Provide intake, referral, and case coordination services tailored to the needs of vulnerable children, young people, and their families.Ensure services are culturally responsive, especially for Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) families.Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local services to develop integrated service responses.Manage client records and data efficiently using the client management system.Actively participate in professional development and contribute to practice improvements.Promote awareness of the Family Connect and Support (FCS) program within the community.Key Selection Criteria: Demonstrated experience in case coordination and understanding of the early intervention and prevention, and child protection service systems.Strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of issues faced by Aboriginal families.Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with local services.Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Commitment to the values of MacKillop Family Services and the Sanctuary model.Tertiary qualification in social work, community development, or a relevant field.Requirements: A tertiary qualification in social work, early childhood, community development or relevant field.Valid and current Driver's Licence;Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);Valid and current NSW Working with Children Check;Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check.Our Offer: Salary packaging–we can help you to maximize your salary packaging up to $18,550 per year, which allows you to reduce the amount of tax you pay.Ongoing Career Development, Education and Training.Fitness Passport - which is a discounted workplace health and fitness program available to you and your family.
