Faculty Research Ethics Support CoordinatorWho are we looking for? We are seeking an organised and proactive Faculty Research Ethics Support Coordinator to join the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity, Research Portfolio, Academic Division on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will provide essential support to a network of research ethics advisors across five faculties to facilitate the low-risk review process for human research ethics.
Responsibilities include: Coordinating the efficient allocation and flow of low-risk human research ethics applications.Supporting a network of Faculty Ethics Chairs and School Research Ethics Advisors.Overseeing communities of practice that foster an environment of peer-to-peer continuous learning.The ideal candidate will have experience in research ethics and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. You will possess strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively with diverse stakeholders. While not essential, competence in using Microsoft Teams and other digital tools would be highly regarded. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team and support vibrant communities of practice. Shortlisting of candidates and scheduling of interviews will occur in January 2025.

The Office of Research Ethics and Integrity (OREI) supports researchers by providing education, guidance, process, and advice for research ethics, biosafety, and responsible research practices to embed a high-quality research culture at the University.
What you need to succeed Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience, including professional experience relating to research ethics and integrity.Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with researchers and foster communities of practice.Knowledge of human research ethics principles and processes.Strong proficiency in using and providing advice about how to use research management systems, and ideally systems that support research ethics review.Proven ability to promote continuous improvement in processes, systems, guidance, training and/or advice.Proven ability to provide support to a network of researchers with minimal supervision in a collegial team environment and identify when to escalate matters and seek collaboration from colleagues.Life at QUT We're committed to building a culture that fosters connection between people and purpose.
