Our determination to deliver and improve today and anticipate and shape tomorrow, makes QinetiQ a very exciting, rewarding and respected place to work and learn.Due to our continued growth, we are excited to announce we are now recruiting for an experienced Facility and Compliance Coordinator to join our Engineering Services division, based in Port Melbourne.As the Facility and Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing facility maintenance operations and compliance, ensuring the safe and efficient handling and storage of dangerous goods, and ensuring compliance with health and safety laws and regulations. This role involves managing the maintenance and dangerous goods programs and implementing best practices to ensure the reliability and safety of operations.Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to;Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for industrial plant, equipment and facilities using the software package MEXOrganise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including with third party suppliersConduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of plant machinery and equipmentManage and maintain Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments for relevant equipmentManage maintenance budgets and control costs without compromising safety and efficiencyOversee the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team, ensuring timely completion of all maintenance tasksEnsure the availability of necessary spare parts and maintenance suppliesManage and maintain accurate records of chemical stock holdings, risk assessments, and relevant documentation in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines using the software package ChemAlertDevelop and maintain procedures for the safe management of hazardous materialsConduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards related to Dangerous GoodsManage and maintain accurate calibration records of relevant equipmentSchedule and organise the calibration of equipment through external calibration laboratories and suppliers and ensure equipment downtime is minimisedEnsure compliance with all local, state, and federal Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) laws and regulationsDevelop and implement safety policies and procedures, including JSA/SWMS as requiredEnsure quality accreditation, regulatory and legislative complianceEnsure all WHS plans and procedures are effectively implemented in work areas, including the induction and training of staff, and addressing WHS hazards in a timely fashionEnsure all operations are implemented with environmental considerations in accordance with the relevant Environmental Management System (ENVMS)Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities support overall plant operationsBuild long-term customer relationships by delivering on commitmentsTo be successful in the position of Facility and Compliance Coordinator, you will need to bring with you;Facility/workshop and plant management experience or equivalentCertification in WHS advantageousExperience with managing contractor servicesAbility to engage positively with a diverse group of technical, engineering, scientific and management stakeholdersComputer literacy and proficiency in the use of compliance management software such as MEX and ChemAlertKnowledge of compliance with legislation, regulations and relevant requirements regarding Workplace Healthy and SafetyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPositive and proactive attitude
