As a component of this initiative, the Facility and Assets group was established to provide local and contracted facility and asset management services with consistent and transparent service levels.
About the Role: The Facility and Assets Maintenance Officer is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the effective and efficient operation of facilities and assets. This role involves general maintenance activities such as cabinetry repairs, minor carpentry, welding, painting, and landscaping, as well as the maintenance of small plant and equipment.
The officer will support licensed tradespersons as a Trades Assistant and contribute to grounds maintenance efforts. Additionally, the role requires adherence to safety and compliance standards, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to assist with technical projects.
Some of your duties will include:
Performing routine maintenance and repairs of facilities, including cabinetry, minor carpentry, general welding, painting, and landscaping.Maintaining small plant and equipment and performing incidental works as needed.Ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.
About You: As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
General Maintenance Proficiency: Experience in performing cabinetry repairs, minor carpentry, welding, painting, landscaping, and small plant and equipment maintenance.Technical Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and correct technical faults, modify routine procedures, and perform technical data analysis for improved maintenance operations.Project Support: Experience assisting with grounds maintenance, acting as a Trades Assistant, and contributing to small to medium technical projects.Compliance and Standards Knowledge: Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring maintenance work adheres to safety and operational standards.Qualifications: A certificate II qualification in a related field is 'desirable' but not mandatory.How to Apply: Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
