The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Facility and Asset Control Systems Technician to provide a critical role within the Barwon Prisons Precinct.
About the Business Unit The Barwon Precinct was formed to drive efficiencies in service delivery across the 4 prisons located in Lara. The Facility and Assets group managed $1.27 billion in physical assets and provides strategic asset management planning services additionally.
About the Role The Facility and Assets, Control Systems Technician forms a critical portion of the trades and technician's cohort within the team that provides reactive and programmed maintenance support to the Prisons Facilities within the Barwon Precinct.
As the Facility and Asset Control Systems Technician, some of your duties will include:
Providing expert technical support by diagnosing and resolving issues with installed control systems within the Barwon Precinct prisons and facilities.Overseeing the management and operation of control systems across the Barwon Precinct prisons and facilities, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards.Collaborating with facility managers to ensure control systems support the overall functionality and efficiency of the facilities.About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues with various control systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS), electrical and mechanical control equipment, and HVAC-R control systems.The proven ability to program and configure software for control systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and alignment with defined engineering processes and industry best practices.Extensive experience in managing and maintaining control systems within large and complex facilities, including pumping systems, hot and cold-water systems, and lighting controls.Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and deliver minor renewal and improvement projects related to control systems.Qualifications/Requirements A TAFE qualification in electrical, electronic, mechatronics or instrumentation is desirable.How to Apply Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
