The role:
We currently have an opportunity for a Facilities Trainee to join the organisation and become a key member of CareFlight's Human Resources team in Darwin.
Reporting to the Facilities and Fleet Coordinator you will develop facilities administration skills utilising a combination of study-based learning and on-the-job training, to provide support to key departments at CareFlight's Northern Operations.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with managing all Facilities & Equipment servicing, maintenance and repairs. This includes:
All Fleet & facilities Services & Repairs (Cars, spill kits, first aid kits, eyewash stations etc.)
GSE Service and Repairs (Tugs, forklift, scissor lift etc.)
Engineering Equipment Service & Repairs (GPU, battery packs etc.)
Operation Equipment Service & Repairs (Headsets, portable a/c etc.)
Clinical Equipment Service and repairs
Carry out equipment & property audits and inspections.
Assist Property Officer with tasks as required.
Cover for Property Officer when required (vise versa).
Assist with any IT related request.
Supervise contractors working on CareFlight facilities.
Assist with maintaining deployment/emergency kits and equipment.
Create, amend and implement documents movements.
Carry out minor building repairs and have basic handyman skills e.g. Hang up hooks, repair toilet seats, patch holes.
Clean & refuel vehicles and assist with car movements.
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Essential
Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
A sound knowledge of Indigenous culture, society and kinship networks.
The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of staff, customers, suppliers and visitors in an attentive, courteous and service orientated manner.
Intermediate computer skills.
A willingness to be trained in all areas of administration within Northern Operations.
A willingness to be trained in general office duties e.g. photocopying, mail collection, answering calls, meetings and education and training.
A proactive approach to the work and teaching environments for successful completion of Certificate III in Business.
Hold a current Driver's Licence.
Desirable
Completion of Year 12.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
