Facilities Security Officer

As part of Saab's Security Operations team, the Facilities Security Officer will work closely with the business to implement and manage security domains in accordance with Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) covering Personnel, Physical, Information/Cyber and Governance.The Facilities Security Officer will also be responsible for ensuring that team goals and objectives are aligned with ISO 27001 and broader Defence Security requirements.Rostered out-of-hours support is a requirement of this role. Some interstate travel is a requirement of this role, there is also some potential for international travel.Specific AccountabilitiesPeople ManagementLiaise and maintain a working relationship with the Directorate of Security Assurance (DoSA) and other security or Australian government agencies.Liaise with Facility Security Officers at other Saab facilities to ensure a consistent application of security process and practice.Work, communicate and cross-skill with other members of the Security Operations team.Provide support and assistance to the Agency Security Advisor, CISO and CSO, as required.ReportingReport on security breaches, as per Australian Government mandatory reporting requirements.Advise on security situations that are of a critical nature and that have the potential to impact Saab's business.Documentation, Process, Procedures and ControlsParticipate in document control and "SAFEHAND" deliveries.Support activities related to Communications Security and Cryptography.Carry out routine security tasks based on applicable policies, standards and procedures.Ensure security documentation and procedures are maintained as required.Comply with legislation and company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety, duty of care and the information security management system.OperationalEnsure alignment of planning, policy, goals and objectives with Defence security requirements under Defence Industry Security Program (DISP).Assist with Visitor/Contractor supervision duties.Coordinate staff Entry/Exit induction and briefings.Assist with maintenance of Saab's physical security and building certification.Assist and support personnel security vetting and re-evaluation under the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) programs.Ensure security incident management programs provide timely identification, investigation, remediation and reporting of security breaches and potential risks.Assist with key and safe management, musters and auditing.Assist with maintenance of security registers, records and logs.Assist with the management and operation of the Electronic Access Control Systems (EACS) and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) for Saab facilities.Assist, advise and support staff in relation to Saab's security protocols and processes.Assist and facilitate security training and awareness programs.Assist and facilitate staff overseas travel briefings and requirements.When required, provide occasional out of hours support.Assist with audits, risk assessments and regulatory compliance.GeneralComply with legislation and Company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, Health & safety, Bullying, Harassment, Violence and Aggression, and duty of care and the quality management system.Treat everyone with respect, communicate regularly and openly with manager and team, and ensure all decisions are made with fairness in mind.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills and ExperienceStrong written and oral communication.Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment and to build rapport with people from all levels of both the business and from the Defence environment.3+ years' experience in the Defence Industry within a similar role.Demonstrated ability to apply security frameworks, policies and standards into operational context and provide practical advice based on them.Experience working in a global organisation.A working knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and ISO/IEC 27001/27002 and 31000 standards.Educational Qualifications and Professional MembershipsMust successfully undertake and complete a DoSA approved security training course.Must hold a minimum Australian Government security clearance of Negative Vet Level 1 (NV1), with the ability to achieve NV2.Personal QualitiesA proactive and flexible approach to work.Ability to work under pressure when required but able to balance performance and wellbeing.Focus on customer service.Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and the desire to learn new tools and skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrate self-awareness and commitment to personal development, leading by example.Utilise a collaborative, accountable, and innovative approach to deliver results.Stay relevant in their expertise, adapting proactively to changing needs.Effectively manage time, deadlines, and competing demands through influential communication skills.Security RequirementsApplicants should meet relevant ITAR requirements including:Regardless of whether you value cutting edge technology, creativity or an innovative environment, everyone at Saab contributes to keeping people and society safe.
