Position Overview The Facilities and Operations Team Member is initially a casual position with the prospect of a full time position should it become available in the future. You will assist in the management and maintenance of the facility and its operations, including overseeing day-to-day activities, supporting equipment and system functions, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. This role involves collaboration with various departments and external vendors to ensure facility and operational needs are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities Assist in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facility. Monitor and ensure that facility systems are functioning correctly. Carry out your duties in accordance with all WH&S policies and procedures. Action helpdesk requests based on urgency as decided by Campus Manager. Complete work as directed by Campus Manager in a safe and efficient manner. Setup and pack down for internal and external events. This includes chairs, tables, stage extensions, and any other furniture or equipment required as directed by the Campus or Events Manager. Ad-hoc cleaning tasks as required. This may include toilets, changerooms, bins, and litter collection. Purchase consumables and equipment as required to enable you to carry out your duties, in line with SCAS procurement and finance policies, and your financial delegation. Perform on call duties if required. Operate fire, security, and access control systems to your level of training. Act as Fire Warden if required. Operate machinery as required and according to all WH&S legislation. Maintain applicable licences and qualifications. Attend training as directed by SCAS. Other Duties May involve working in various environments and conditions, including indoors and outdoors. Ability to lift and carry objects, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as needed. Flexibility to work outside regular hours or be on call for emergencies may be required. Personal Attributes Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment. Energetic and well organised. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications and Experience Drivers Licence. General Construction Induction (White) Card. Additional Requirements Current Working with Children Check. Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to gain one). Terms of Employment The position of Facilities and Operation Team Member is a casual role. You will be stood down without pay during pupil vacation periods, and we will inform you before the commencement of each year when these vacation periods are programmed. However, if the need arises and you agree to work during pupil vacation periods, payment on such occasions will be at the casual rate of pay applicable to your level. The hours of work are through Mondays to Fridays 7.30am to 3.30pm.
