Facilities Officer - Maintenance

The College has a permanent full-time position for a tradesperson with a range of skills to work with the Facilities team.  Duties will include general College buildings maintenance, repairs and joinery duties including general carpentry, plastering and painting; along with assisting with setup and pack-down of College events. Hours are 7:30am to 3:36pm Monday to Friday.
This position will be available for immediate commencement or as negotiated.  Key Responsibilities The Facilities Officer – Maintenance will be directly responsible to the Head of Facilities. Duties related to the position, include but are not limited to the following:
Maintenance Duties:Respond to and action jobs via the online helpdesk.Undertake general College buildings maintenance, repairs and joinery duties including general carpentry, plastering and painting. Record all repairs and maintenance tasks completed.Assist with the development of the College property maintenance program.Complete condition reports on buildings and internal finishes.Schedule and monitor external contractors to undertake maintenance tasks as required.Assist as required with setup and pack down at College events.Attend staff meetings and training when required.Other duties as requested by the Headmaster or Head of Facilities.Skills and Attributes – Selection CriteriaRelevant trade qualifications (e.g. Cert III in Carpentry). Extensive experience in building industry and/or general maintenance.High standards of workmanship.Strong technical mindset and the ability to problem solve.Ability to work as part of a team and to perform routine tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.Ability to work within a budget and time restraints.Great presentation and communication skills.Strong understanding and respect of Workplace Health and Safety requirements.Must have ability to work at heights and in confined spaces (completion of 'Work Safely at Heights' course, and 'Enter and work in Confined Spaces' courses is preferable) Must hold a General Construction Induction Card (White Card)Most hold a current Drivers Licence.  MR or HR licence would also be desirable.Must hold current Working with Vulnerable People Registration.Application Submission For information about the duties and nature of the position, or progress of the selection process, enquiries should be directed to Acting Assistant Head of School – Staff and Community, Mr Justin Wood at [email protected].  The closing date for applications is advertised on the College Website.
