Facilities Manager - permanent full-time role Katoomba Christian Convention seeks an innovative Facilities Manager to lead our Facilities Team to look after KCC's grounds, buildings and facilities, provide event logistics and guest liaison and continue to develop a Christ-centered organisational culture.
KCC is an evangelical Christian, not-for-profit organisation that was founded in 1903 and runs large Christian conventions (currently 7 per year, each with over 2000 people). Our scenic Katoomba site is located right next to the Blue Mountains National Park and has 28 acres of bushland, grounds and facilities, accommodating up to 540 people.
The Facilities Manager role we are recruiting for is to lead the Facilities Team. The position reports directly to the General Manager and works as part of a Management Team. It would suit a strong evangelical Christian who is a 'people person', trade qualified with a minimum 5 years experience in a management or supervisory role in a trade, maintenance or property area. The position is primarily a "hands-on" role.
Summary of key responsibilities Manage and oversee KCC's facilities (land, buildings, facilities & equipment)Contribute to high quality presentation of KCC's facilities overallEnsure the efficient operation of the centre, including vehicles & equipmentProvide skilled hands-on tradesperson work and all-round trade competencyRespond to urgent repair needs with initiative as they ariseLead KCC's Facilities Team - train, supervise and roster staff and daily workAssess, plan, budget, schedule and carry out preventative maintenance and regular inspections on KCC's facilities as requiredManage/coordinate/supervise contractors and tradespeople as requiredCoordinate, supervise and seek to motivate volunteers to assist with facilities projects and tasksLead renovation projects and capital works programsAs required, be on call and able to respond in the event of an emergency - KCC rosters a site staff member to be on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week in case of an emergency. This role is shared among the Management Team on a rostered basis.Lead KCC event logistics and act as Guest Liaison/Site Host at timesEnsure a high level of customer service is maintained while guests are stayingDevelop, implement and maintain relevant compliance, policies and proceduresA personal commitment to Jesus Christ and active involvement in a local churchCapacity to uphold KCC's core values, vision, mission and actively lead a Christ-centered organisational cultureTrade qualified with a good understanding of all the key relevant tradesProven track record and minimum 5 years' experience in a management or supervisory role in a trade, maintenance or property areaAdept at effectively communicating with guests, staff and contractorsAwareness and demonstrable knowledge of safety and compliance needsStrategic planning, budgeting and project management skillsExperience in managing staff, including training and rosteringTeam player, and able to work independentlyExcellent initiative and problem-solving skillsFlexible and adaptable to changing priorities to meet guest needsStrong multi-tasking, organisational and time management planning skillsHigh standard of written and spoken EnglishProficient in the use of Microsoft OfficeCurrent NSW driver's licenseCurrent NSW forklift licenseMaturity to handle a variety of issues that may arise in KCC's facilitiesWillingness and availability to be on call and work on weekends on a rotating rosterDesirable experience and attributes Similar role or some experience in Christian campingExperience in overseeing and leading renovations and building projectsExperience in event logistics and event managementStrategic thinker with business acumenExperience in carrying out emergency procedures, or willingness to learnKnowledge of Venuelife booking systemFurther information An attractive salary package will be offered to the right candidate.
