About Our RoleSimplot Australia are seeking applicants for the position of Maintenance Tradesperson to be engaged on a permanent basis at our Ulverstone manufacturing facility. Established in 1943, the plant originally supplied dehydrated vegetables to armed forces during WWII. In the late 40s it became a rabbit processing facility, canned peas and frozen vegetables production began in the early 50s. By 1987, the site had become solely a potato processing plant. Today, the Ulverstone plant processes around 300,000 tonnes of potatoes from 165 Tasmanian growers each year and employs over 450 people.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will require day-to-day building asset repair and maintenance (reactive and preventative) across a Mon-Fri 700 - 1530 work week.
What you Will DoPerform general facilities maintenance and minor repairsMaintain asset management plans and contribute to best practices for building repairs and maintenanceOversee day-to-day contractor management and scheduling, including landscaping and grounds maintenanceConduct regular building and asset audits/inspections, ensuring corrective actions are addressedEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including site safety inspectionsIdentify, plan and schedule all major repairs to site building assetsAbout YouPossess a 100% commitment to health, safety & wellbeing in the workplaceRelevant Trade qualification - Certificate III in building / plumbing / carpentryProven experience within the building industry (3 years minimum)Ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Skilled in communication with a diverse demographic of stakeholders both internal and externalKnowledge of building industry, legislated standards and regulationAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while also effectively collaborating within a teamWillingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)The PerksOrdinary hourly rates of $41.16ph + overtime (where applicable)Income protection insuranceFully supplied and laundered uniform + boots + all required PPEOn-site soft tissue specialist appointmentsOn-site canteenOn-site parkingPlease click the "Apply" button to submit your covering letter outlining your suitability for the role AND an up to date resume (must include 2x work related referees).
