Maintenance Officer, North Gold Coast, $65,000 - $72,000 inclusive of super, depending on experience
This entry-level role offers a solid foundation for career progression to develop within Facilities Management, Retail Shopping Centres and a private property group with an established network of Shopping Centres throughout SE Queensland.   They have a reputation for fostering a great culture, team ethic, and career progression and have an extremely low staff turnover, making this a rare opportunity to get a foot in the door to this destination organisation.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be mentored by a leading facilities expert and have autonomy for a well known flagship shopping centre.  As part of a larger Facilities Management team, you will have support, access to training development, and excellent systems.
Eventually, you will become a maintenance, security and safety custodian, where the role will draw upon your ability to drive the centre brand through appearance, keeping the environment safe and clean and building strong, robust relationships with contractors, tenants, stakeholders and customers. 
Key responsibilities of the role include assisting with:
Everyday maintenance (hands-on/in-house included) of the Centre and environs.Minor paperwork includes some reporting, ordering of requisites, and follow-up. Liaison and overseeing of all service contractors and tradesmen that are engaged from time to time to maintain the Centre i.e., air conditioning, security, lifts, firefighting and emergency equipment, electrical systems, pest control etc.Maintaining the Centre to the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
Adhering to insurance and workplace health and safety requirements.Coordinating and managing maintenance, cleaning, and security contractors, including obtaining quotes for work.Overseeing correct induction procedures for contractors.Monitoring and implementing programs to minimize wastage of electricity, water, and other services.Maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic registersCompletion of all fire impairmentsWe are looking for a candidate with hands on maintenance experience, the right attitude and dedication, a strong willingness to learn, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work. While maintenance experience is a plus, motivation and drive are equally important. This role will open the door to further opportunities within the Operations team.
