Job overview We are now recruiting for 2 Facilities Assistant positions. To work as a member of the Facilities Management Team to carry out a comprehensive range of cleaning and portering tasks throughout Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth. The role will include supporting the Seasonal Deep cleaning program, and you may be required to support the catering patient feeding service.
Main duties of the job Main duties of a Facilities Assistant working at Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital include working as part of Facilities and ward/department teams to carry out a variety of tasks associated with cleaning, portering, and patient catering.
This can be a physically challenging role, so applicants must have a good understanding of customer care and be able to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors.
Similar work experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential; specific training will be given.

Person specification General Basic Numeracy & Literacy skills Ability to work on own initiative Work Experience Knowledge of cleaning & manual handling techniques Similar previous job content Good organisational skills People Ability to integrate with existing team Capable of taking sole responsibility for the provision of cleaning Resources NVQ 1 or 2 in cleaning building interiors. Knowledge of Infection Control and COSHH. Food Safety Level 2 Ability to organise own day-to-day work tasks or activities Communication The ability to communicate with all levels of staff and members of the public. Able to work as part of a team. Respond to patient/visitor enquiries in accordance with Trust procedures. Complete all relevant paperwork for own role and department. Knowledge of Medical gas safety and awareness. Workplace content Ability to manipulate trollies, wheelchairs, beds, and all types of cleaning equipment. Flexible approach to meet the needs of the department.
