Maintenance & Handyperson Services (Trades & Services) Full time McDermott Aviation is Australia's largest privately owned Heli-Aviation company, operating from bases across Australia, Europe, and the USA and home to the world's largest fleet of the most powerful, single engine, twin bladed helicopter – the Bell 214B. We provide Aerial Fire Fighting, Emergency Assistance, Charter, and Helicopter lifting services and support.
The Role This role will oversee all aspects of building functions and is responsible for the safety, functionality, and comfort of the workplace's built environment.
Responsibilities Building maintenance: Overseeing building maintenance, upkeep, and improvements including but not limited to drinking water, gutters, septic, toilets, etc.Safety: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting safety audits, and organizing training programs.Communication: Interacting with a variety of people, including maintenance staff, visitors, senior managers, and vendors.Sustainability: Implementing sustainable construction and operation practices.Emergency management: Developing and implementing plans for emergencies such as fires, floods, and power outages.Operational activities: Planning and administering operational activities, coordinating repairs, cleaning, maintenance, and renovations such as maintaining paint booths, organizing lawn mowing and garden services, sewage plants, facilities' air conditioning, air compressors, pest control.IT / Electrical: Organizing electricians for renovations / internet lines.Facility income: Monitoring and reporting on operational expenses and facility income.Special functions: Planning and coordinating the use of the facility for special functions.Space planning: Planning space and designing the workplace.Real estate: Managing leases for Bankstown and Gympie bases.Employee interaction: Handling employee interaction with the workplace.Experience Extensive management experience in a commercial or government aviation organisation, preferably with maintenance and maintenance planning experience.Demonstrated proficiency in assessing and monitoring external and internal factors, to maintain safe aviation operations that meet McDermott Aviation and regulator requirements.Knowledge & Skills Understanding the built environment and industry specific requirements for effective facilities management.Both 'hard' & 'soft' services related to buildings, properties and facilities, including infrastructure repair and maintenance services and delivery of in-house and support services such as security and waste management.Business systems needed for carrying out facilities management functions, activities and services, including knowledge and management skills and procedural controls.About You Analytical: Systematic in their approach to understanding a problemCollaborative: Able to work as part of a team and with a wide variety of stakeholdersEffective communicator: Ability to build relationships based on common understandingFlexible: Capable of adapting to changing circumstances and expectationsInnovative: Able to think outside the squareLateral thinker: Able to apply new ways of thinking and considering challengesProfessional: Able to conduct themselves in a manner befitting their roleQuality-conscious: Strong attention to detail and desire to achieve the best possible outcomesResults driven: Ability to base their work around achieving tangible outcomesHow do your skills match this job?Your application will include the following questions:
