Who are we looking for?We are seeking Facilitators to join our casual pool to work predominately on weekends within a dynamic team of child-focused staff providing safe spaces for children and their parents. You will supervise contact visits between non-residential parents and their children and facilitate child-focused changeovers. You will be required to write observation reports and assist with the collection of data and statistics. You will be provided with ongoing support and supervision. You can expect to be scheduled for one shift a month, with the opportunity for more as service allows.
What can you expect to be doing?Provide a safe place for children to have contact with their separated parents.Listen to children and ensure they are comfortable at the service.Writing contemporaneous notes of visits between children and their visiting parent.Building rapport with parents, and referring them to services they need as appropriate (e.g. circle of security, dad factor).Actively monitoring service performance, finding opportunities for improvement.What do you need to bring?Post-secondary qualifications in the human service field and/or extensive experience working with families and children in crisis from a developmental and strengths-based perspective.Senior First Aid Certificate.Child Safe Environments Certificate.Must be available to work weekends as required.An understanding of family separation and divorce and the impact of domestic violence on women and children.How to Apply:Please note that this is an expression of interest and candidates will be contacted as opportunities arise.
