Huon's Projects and Engineering team are on the hunt for a qualified Fabricator to join the team at our Port Huon workshop.
The roleReporting to the Workshop Manager, you will:
Maintain and upgrade a variety of steel and aluminum vessels in Huon's Fleet from ocean-going ships to small dinghies.Undertake vessel construction and modifications, including a variety of projects on land and water.This opportunity is a full-time position operating on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster. Above award wages and overtime rates apply.About youYou have trade qualifications and experience in a relevant discipline and are competent in MIG and TIG welding stainless and aluminum.You are confident in your ability to fabricate and assemble as per engineers and shop drawings.You have excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate in small or large teams on projects.Problem-solving skills and contribution to design and engineering projects.You are enthusiastic and self-motivated with a positive attitude.You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive focus on continually looking to improve processes.Benefits of joining HuonAs part of the Huon family, you will receive:
