Join the team as a Fabrication Leading Hand at our Koppers Round Wood Manufacturing & Treatment Plant facility in Takura.
About the role
Leading a team responsible for fabrication of utility poles and roundwood products, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing efficient operation of our pole production line, whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity. Daily activities include:
Lead, motivate & supervise a team of production operators, ensuring a positive & productive work environmentCoordinate & prioritise production schedules to meet set targetsMonitor production processes, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, quality standards & manufacturing proceduresConduct regular quality checks & audits to identify & rectify deviations or defectsProvide clear direction, coaching & support to team members to enhance skills, performance & job satisfactionContribute to a culture of safety awareness & strict adherence to health & safety regulationsDrive initiatives for process optimisation, waste reduction & efficiency enhancement within the fabrication process
What are we looking for
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment essential (similar role ideal)Strong understanding of manufacturing & production processes, quality control & safety regulationsAbility to lead, motivate & coach a team toward common goalsAnalytical, problem-solving mindset to identify & address production issues efficientlyStrong communication & interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members & managementFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environmentPhysically fit with a satisfactory pre-employment medical screening
