You will support the implementation of the Queensland Low Emissions Agriculture Roadmap 2022-2032 through the development and delivery of the agency's carbon extension program.Just imagine what you could achieve with us. #passionandpurpose #DAFlegacyJob details Position statusPosition status Fixed Term TemporaryPosition typePosition type Flexible full-timeOccupational groupOccupational group Primary Industry & EnvironmentClassificationClassification PO3Workplace LocationJob ad referenceJob ad reference QLD/572024/24Closing date 28-Jun-2024Yearly salaryYearly salary $95747 - $104278Fortnightly salaryFortnightly salary $3670.00 - $3997.00Job durationJob duration until 30 June 2025 with possible extensionAbout the roleAs our Extension Officer (Carbon), you will:• Support implementation of the Queensland Low Emissions Agriculture Roadmap 2022-2032 and key research, development and extension projects that deliver on th Queensland Climate Adaptation Strategy 2017-2030.• Develop and conduct extension activities as part of the agency's carbon extension program.• Understand and use a range of extension methodologies, including face to face as well as web-based webinars and on-line training, to build relationships with stakeholders to transition to a carbon net zero economy, particularly in the livestock agriculture sector.• Lead and support delivery of industry and government priority RD&E projects that enhance livestock producer knowledge of key performance indicators of their business, and support the identification of grazing, production and business strategies to increase resilience to drought, climate change and other business shocks.• Improve producer knowledge on how to integrate low emissions technologies and practices into their operations and advice on pathways for landholders to participate in carbon and other natural capital markets and certification schemes including carbon farming, natural capital, reef credits and biodiversity conservation.• Support DAF staff and other service providers to build knowledge and skills to improve producer knowledge on how to integrate low emissions technologies and practices into their operations and evaluate and demonstrate industry sustainability.• Ensure that project deliverables are of a high standard and are delivered to influence adoption by industry, and that project management and governance processes are exemplary of a leading RD&E organisation.• Demonstrate excellent teamwork, interpersonal skills and collaboration within DAF, with external service providers and with producers.What we are looking forWe are seeking the best suited candidate for the role.
