Adelaide | Albany | Brisbane | Bunbury | Dampier | Darwin | Eden | Fremantle | Geraldton | Kwinana | Melbourne | Newcastle | Onslow | Port Botany | Port Kembla | Port Pirie | Westernport What You'll Be Doing Take command of the tug and manage the crew to ensure safe, efficient operations.Coordinate crew attendance, stores provisioning, and maintain operational readiness.Ensure compliance with Svitzer policies, statutory obligations, and safety management systems.Manage crew discipline, supervise tug maintenance, and prepare operational reports.Conduct inductions, mentor crew members, and support skills training and development.Participate in safety training and operational improvement initiatives while adhering to roster and standing orders.What You'll Bring A minimum Master Certificate of Competency (or equivalent).A Long Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (LROCP) (or equivalent).Statements of Attainment in Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and CPR (HLTAID001).A current AMSA Medical and a valid MSIC (or the ability to obtain one).Prior experience as a vessel Master is essential for ensuring safe and efficient operations.Proven ability to lead a team effectively, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.Effective communication through both verbal and written channels, ensuring clear and concise information is conveyed.A calm and clear thinker who can make good decisions under pressure, especially in challenging or emergency situations.Strong problem-solving abilities, coupled with efficient fault-finding to address challenges effectively.Comfortable with technology, including basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office tools.If you're excited about building your career in the maritime industry and want to work with a team that values passion, teamwork, and excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
