Your application will be considered for future casual opportunities in our harbour towage in Fremantle & to the nature of casual employment and the potential to be engaged at short notice, we will be considering applications from candidates who reside within two hours of either operation.What You Can Look Forward ToSvitzer is aiming to reduce the CO2 intensity of its entire fleet by 50% by 2030. This will pave the way for fully carbon neutral operations just ten years' later in 2040. It is an exciting time to join Svitzer, striving together towards a decarbonised future.What You Will DoReporting to the Port Manager and the Tug Master onboard the vessel, you will be part of a three-person crew and will oversee operating and maintaining engines, deck machinery, and other equipment aboard. Your key responsibilities in this position will include:Tug maintenance in accordance with the programmed maintenance schedule and budgetSupervision of personnel undertaking and assisting in the engineering functionPreparation of maintenance and operational reports as requiredReporting operational defects to the Master and local management in a timely mannerCompliance with policies and procedures authorised by Svitzer and consistent with statutory obligations including quality assurance and ISM proceduresParticipation in operational improvement exercises and liaise with local management regarding improvement of operational proceduresEnsuring day to day compliance with relevant environmental regulationsWhat You Will Need To SucceedTo thrive in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:A minimum Engineer Class 3 Certificate of Competency or equivalent qualificationStatements of attainment in Provide First Aid and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) A current AMSA Medical and a valid MSIC or 'Job Ready' MSIC Application (or proof of ability to obtain) Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, fostering positive relationships with external stakeholdersAbility to work under pressure, particularly in emergency situationsAttention to detail and ability to effectively prioritise tasksExcellent communication skills in both verbal and writtenGood problem-solving and fault-finding skillsThe right to live and work in AustraliaIf you share our excitement for the journey ahead and would like to work with leaders in the industry, we can't wait to hear from you!
