Job Description
Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) are invaluable within Catholic schools as they provide support and assistance to students and teachers alike.
Your working day will never be the same as the type of support you provide differs depending on the student and classroom you are working within.
LSAs within our schools also support the Catholic community, inviting students and families with a faith-filled learning experience as well as promoting creativity, curiosity, deep learning and engagement amongst the students.

If shortlisted, you will be contacted to complete the pre-screening process, including Working with Children Check, National Criminal Check, and other requirements.
Once we have completed and approved your pre-screening tasks, you will receive a casual employment contract, allowing you to engage with our schools through ClassCover.
Please be sure to advise if you have previously worked with the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
You will still need to undergo pre-screening.
It's important to note that employment within our Diocese can only commence once the pre-screening process is completed, and you have received a casual contract and a green tick on ClassCover.
Desired Skills and Experience EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools. Experience working with students with disability (K-12). Demonstrated ability to work under the direction of a teacher, and in collaboration with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to effectively administer assessments and deliver interventions under the direction of a teacher. Demonstrated ability to implement adjustments required for individual students and groups of students. Experience in supporting student enrolment and transitions under the direction of a teacher. Knowledge about the relevant Disability legislation and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data. Evidence of excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills. REQUIREMENTS: Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number. Completion of anaphylaxis training. Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support or experience in schools (Desirable). CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
