This project is a convenient 30-minute drive from Kalgoorlie.As the underground foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the underground mining team directly to achieve production and development objectives. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all operations are carried out in compliance with Norton Goldfield's safety, cultural, and environmental policies whilst upholding safe work practices.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEffective leadership of the Mining Team, including context setting, task assignment, performance monitoring, coaching and performance review.Coordinate all aspects of development and production activity including liaison with the Underground Mine Manager, Electrical, Maintenance, Mining Superintendents, team members and others to achieve role purpose.Safe and efficient production of Short Term planned development and ore from underground mine/s.Optimise and efficient utilisation of mining operations plant, equipment, consumables, and other resources.Development and implementation of best practice mine development and production systems at Norton.Ensuring activities are aligned with production forecasts and budgets.Communicate with the Shift Supervisor, crew and technical staff on plans and issues.Identify, set, and achieve production priorities in line with my schedules.Completion of any specific or special tasks assigned on time, to the standards and quality required and within budget.Behavior, decisions, and performance at work which reflects and reinforces Norton's Values.Safe work behavior, with regard for the health and safety of others including:Implementation and compliance with all Health, Safety and Environment policies and systems.Actively working to improve health and safety standards at Norton.Involvement in safety activities (safety and toolbox meetings, S.A.O.'s, hazard reporting, Emergency Response training).ABOUT YOUPrevious experience as a mine foreman with a minimum of 10 years' experience.Sound understanding of Underground mining development and production operations.Sound understanding of mine planning, mining engineering and geology.Proven experience and of Underground mining plant and equipment operation.Good understanding of statutory requirements, underground mining (Mining Safety and Inspection Act 1994 (WA) and, Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995 (WA)).Western Australian Underground Shift Supervisors ticket (essential)Satisfactory GSDU / NPC clearance (essential)BENEFITSExcellent remuneration package with additional allowances.$12k residential allowance per annum, for employees residing in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.$4.8k site allowance per annum.Up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) bonus.Fully covered family private health insurance through GU Health Complete Gold Cover or an allowance of $4.8k.A fully covered Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance or an allowance of $2.4k.Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.APPLY NOW...This can be your new beginning at a company that values its people and celebrates Diversity and Inclusion.Norton is recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Australian Government's Workplace Gender Equality Agency.
