Applications Close: 12 noon Friday 15 November 2024 Location: Hobart, TAS  This form is seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) from current community Committee members interested in joining the Place and Wellbeing Committee.
Membership of the committee is made up of six to 12 community members and subject matter experts who contribute their ideas, lived experience, community connections, skills, and knowledge at quarterly meetings.
The membership term is aligned to the Council term expiring in 2026.
The Committee's Terms of Reference: Place and Wellbeing Committee outlines the Committee's focus area.

Applicants wishing to apply for more than one committee, will be required to complete a separate application for each committee.

To maximise your chances of success, the answers you provide in this application should align with this information, as well as the eligibility and selection criteria in the following sections.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eligibility Criteria:   To be eligible to be considered as a committee member, applicants must:  live, work, study or volunteer in Hobart; be aged 16 or over;?  have an interest in advancing the goals in the Hobart Community Vision and Capital City Strategic Plan 2023;?  demonstrated leadership and relationship-building skills, or a willingness to learn these skills; hold knowledge and experience in the focus area; possess strong community linkages with the ability to engage a broad range of community members and views; and be willing to constructively participate in an advisory capacity to the City.
The information you provide in this application will be used to assess your eligibility, so please ensure that your answers demonstrate your alignment with these eligibility criteria.
Selection Criteria:   The relative suitability of applicants will be assessed against the following two criteria: Selection Criteria 1: Level of experience, involvement, skill, and/or subject matter expertise in the committee's focus area that would support the work of the committee.
What would you bring to the committee?
How are the ways you live, work, or play in Hobart related to this focus area?
What are the relevant activities you participate in, or organisations you belong to?
What relevant skills or experience do you have that would help the committee to do its work?
Selection Criteria 2: Level of understanding of the focus area, particularly in the local context, and the role that can be played in the committee's focus area by the City of Hobart.
In your opinion, what is the one most important thing that the City of Hobart could do in the next two years to make a positive difference in this focus area?

Expressions of interest for all focus Committees will close on 12 noon, 15 November 2024, after which a shortlisting process will take place for each committee.
