HRS GAP Student Program We are seeking eligible ex-Students who have recently competed Year 12 and are looking to gain new experiences before commencing university.
This is commonly refered to as a GAP year, hence our HRS GAP Student Program.
We employ GAP Students anywhere from Term 1 to 4.

Hours of Work Your ordinary hours of work will be based on School hours and activities.
Your hours of work, lunch and break schedules will be determined by the Head of Operations and may vary from time to time.
You may also be asked to work some additional hours in order to accommodate student and boarding needs.
Allowances/Accommodation Upon commencement of your placement, you will receive an allowance of $150 per week, less applicable tax.
This rate will be roughly based on a 5-day week.
This allowance is not payable during term breaks.
Super is not payable on this allowance.
Your allowance will be paid to a financial institution of your choice on a fortnightly basis.
All meals during school terms will be provided via our dining room.
Accommodation is included with your placement; it is your responsibility to clean and maintain your living quarters.
During the school term, the school dining room will provide all your meals.
You can use your allowance to assist with incidentals, such as Snacks or the purchasing of your own meals if you do not wish to eat the meals provided.
During the school holiday periods, GAP Students will need to provide their own meals.
You will have key/electronic access to boarding (accommodation), classrooms and dining room.
Leave As a GAP Student there is no entitlement for any leave (e.g.
sick/personal/annual).
If you are absent for more than a few days, a reduction in the allowance payable may be considered.
Conflict of Interest During your placement you must not engage in any business or employment that conflicts or is likely to conflict with Haileybury Rendall School's interests, the requirements of your position or your ability to perform your duties and responsibilities, without our prior written consent.
You are permitted to engage in other activities or forms of employment outside the hours of attendance for the performance of your duties required by Haileybury Rendall School, provided that these activities do not interfere with or prevent performance of all your duties at Haileybury Rendall School or give rise to a conflict of interest.
In all circumstances, staff are required to respect and abide by the policies of Haileybury Rendall School.
If you are unsure about whether a conflict of interest has arisen or might arise, please discuss the issue with the HR/Payroll Officer.
Smoking Haileybury Rendall School is a smoke-free environment.
You are not permitted to smoke while on HRS premises, or attending HRS events or functions or while in the company of students.
Working With Children Clearance (WWCC) / OCHRE Card Your placement is conditional on you providing Haileybury Rendall School with a satisfactory Volunteer WWCC (OCHRE) Card.
If you do not have this card, you are required to apply for this and a Police Check at https://forms.pfes.nt.gov.au/safent/ You are not able to commence placement at Haileybury Rendall School without a current OCHRE Card.
Please note that new applications can take some time, so it is recommended that you start this process as soon as possible (Cards are valid for 2 years).
Child Safe Standards The School is committed to ensuring child safety.

In line with this commitment to child safety, the School has put in place policies and procedures to uphold the Northern Territory Child Safe Standards.
These standards aim to promote child safety, prevent child abuse and set up processes to properly respond to allegations of child abuse.
Policies and Procedures You must comply with all our rules, policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Handbook, in force from time-to-time.
We may vary these policies and procedures from time-to-time.
Any breach of our policies or procedures may result in disciplinary action, up to and including the termination of your placement.
Eligibility to Work in Australia This offer of placement is contingent upon you providing evidence of your eligibility to work in Australia.
Where eligibility is based on a working visa, your employment would depend on the terms of your visa status and you are required to inform Haileybury Rendall School of any changes to your visa status.
Haileybury Rendall School requires that you provide the following documentation: Australian passport (current); or A full Australian birth certificate; or Australian Citizenship Certificate and international birth certificate or international passport; or Certificate of evidence of resident status and current valid visa with work rights (if appropriate) and international passport.
