Deputy General Counsel, Arts and Tourism - Expression of Interest Temporary opportunity for 9 months with the opportunity to be extended up to 12 months (commencing 6 January 2025) Senior Executive Band 1, with a total remuneration range between $247,225 - $271,328 Based in Sydney NSW, with opportunity for flexible working arrangements About the role We are seeking a highly experienced Deputy General Counsel to join our legal team for up to 12 months. In this pivotal role, you will manage and provide expert legal advice on a diverse range of legal and policy issues across the Arts and Tourism portfolios of the Department. Your expertise will be crucial in negotiating at a senior level with various agencies, both within and outside the portfolio, while advising on complex issues that impact cross-portfolio and intergovernmental matters and priorities. About You The role requires a high degree of legal and business acumen, with demonstrated prior experience leading a team of lawyers. You are a proactive problem-solver with a strong ability to navigate complex legal landscapes and foster collaboration across diverse stakeholders. You have demonstrated experience in communicating and distilling complex legal information and advice, and the ability to excel in a high-pressure environment setting, adapt to changing priorities, and outcomes efficiently.
