About the role
The QPS invites applications from individuals with previous policing experience in interstate and international policing jurisdictions.
Your experience could see you fast-tracked to the frontline through our 18-week Police Abridged Competency Education (PACE) program, building on your existing frontline policing experience.
A career with the QPS offers paid training, ongoing development and opportunities in specialist units and leadership roles.
Duties
Our officers are on the frontline, managing everything from crime prevention and emergency response to community engagement and public safety:
Conduct operational patrols, respond to and investigate incidents, maintain public order, prepare and present evidence.
Use a variety of methods to gather, organise and analyse information.
Support operational responsibilities through administrative duties, correspondence, and reporting.
Skills & experience
To be eligible for the fast-tracked PACE Program you must meet the following criteria:
Current or recently resigned police officer Minimum of 2 years policing experience Maximum of 5 years since resigning Years of operational policing experience is greater than years since resigning.
If your experience is not applicable or recent, you may need to undertake the 36-week mainstream Recruit Training Program to ensure you meet the standard of the QPS.
Your experience will be recognised in terms of salary, even if you need to undertake the mainstream recruit training.

Benefits
Higher pay from day one at the police academy AUD$20,000 in relocation support Pay which is greater than standard recruits This could be over AUD$4,000 per fortnight as a recruit, and up to AUD$130,000 per annum as a First Year Constable.
