Join a Leading Team in Cancer Care We are seeking an experienced Cancer Care Pharmacist to become part of our team at Slade Pharmacy Auchenflower, located within the Wesley Specialist Centre. In this vital role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
As a Cancer Care Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing expert pharmacy services across a range of cancer-related areas, including clinical pharmacy, outpatient care, dispensary-based services, and sterile production. This role also involves mentoring and supervising less experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring excellence in patient care and clinical standards.

Responsibilities Undertake high-level cancer care pharmacy duties with minimal need for direct clinical supervision across clinical pharmacy, dispensary, and sterile production areas. Apply professional judgement to a complex caseload, using an evidence-based approach to adapt routine clinical practice and support the continuum of care. Work cooperatively and effectively with multidisciplinary teams and with patients/carers, and actively participate and provide high level advice within this multidisciplinary environment. Provide clinical practice supervision and mentorship to less experienced pharmacy staff daily, upholding clinical standards and fostering a supportive learning environment. Act as a primary resource for professional support and guidance, particularly for the pharmacy team and other members of the multidisciplinary team. About You You are an experienced Cancer Care Pharmacist, passionate about the treatment of cancer patients. With your comprehensive background in cancer care, you are confident in your ability to handle the complexities of clinical pharmacy, outpatient services, dispensary operations, and sterile production. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment, working collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
A current AHPRA registration. At least 2 years of experience in Cancer Care Pharmacy, with expertise across clinical pharmacy, outpatient services, dispensary, and sterile production. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and manage interactions with doctors and multidisciplinary teams. A proactive approach to mentoring and supervising less experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, helping them develop their skills and maintain clinical standards. Desirable but not essential: 5+ years of experience in Cancer Care Pharmacy. Experience in Clinical Trials. While we offer opportunities for new Pharmacists to gain experience in oncology, please note that for this position, we are only considering applicants with prior Oncology and Haematology Pharmacy experience.
