The role As our Public Sector (Corporate) practice group continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lawyer to join us. Reporting to Partner Rob Dearn, you will get exposure to some of the largest, most challenging contracting and procurement undertaken by the Commonwealth government. Rob's practice has a particular focus on strategic services outsourcing arrangements, technology projects, and data commercialisation.
About you To be successful in this role you will have:
At least 2-3 years' experience as a Lawyer within Government and/or a leading private practice law firm. Proven experience in commercial contracting; experience in public sector procurement and complex ICT transactions desirable, but not essential. A straightforward practical approach to deliver commercially astute client service in a clear and useful manner. The ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines. Strong academic record of achievement. An existing Commonwealth security clearance or the ability to obtain one. In addition to this, we are looking for a resilient, self-starter. Someone who will utilise their initiative and is focused on attention to detail and providing outstanding service to their clients.
The Public Sector team Our National Public Sector group is widely regarded as the premier private government practice in the country and has a wealth of talent and experience within the team. The team helps a range of Commonwealth and State Government departments and agencies with some of their most interesting, significant and technically challenging programs, projects and matters generally. We use our skills to solve complex legal problems, assist with the development and implementation of program strategy, and inform policy development.
