We have an exciting opportunity for an Interior Designer to join our Studio 103Team in Melbourne .This role will report to the Design Director & Studio Director .
About the role: The Interior Designer will bring fresh ideas into projects, contribute to our collaborative approach to design, learn and seek development from seasoned professionals, and benefit from a supportive environment that fosters growth as a designer.
The Interior Designer will utilise knowledge and systems proficiency to create accurate and detailed design documentation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Updating client information, ordering products, and arranging deliveries. Sourcing new products and representing the studioat supplier appointments. Engage with and build lasting relationships with socially responsible suppliers. Investigate suitability of products and materials for use and maintenance. Review plans and quotes for accuracy.
Ability to estimate project time deliverables.
Preparing working drawings and specifications.
Work with Documentors to develop all aspects of project detailing and drafting. Ensure working drawings and schedules are prepared for finalisation (including materials, finishes, joinery works and furnishings). Ensure documents and schedules are completed accurately. Liaise with professional and technical consultants as required. Collaborate with building surveyors and local councils when appropriate. Undertake internal quality check procedures before finalising documentation. Visualise and sketch design plans in line with goals and client expectations.
Arrange and attend site visits with senior designers. Assist senior designers with selections and preparing design concepts. Provide designers with assistance in resolving design solutions. Update project workflow and tasks. Inspect sites during construction to maintain alignment with specifications. Respond to and manage allocated budgets. Report timeframes and progress to senior designers and directors as required. Prepare design tender presentation packages and materials. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing strong networks with contractors and suppliers. Keep abreast of industry trends by maintaining up-to-date product knowledge. Share insights with the team and motivate junior team members to attend supplier presentations and industry events, fostering accountability. Successful applicants must have:
Tertiary qualification in Interior Design 4-8 years' experience in design solutions including Commercial Offices, Retail Interiors, Hospitality, or Residential Ability to understand working drawings and detailing Always demonstrates integrity

Capacity to work as part of a team and autonomously as required
Excellent organisational skills Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills Excellent understanding of products and suppliers Passion for design Proficient technical skills Strong work ethic Strong understanding of building codes & workplace strategies Support design on project deliverables Working towards coordinating project deliverables Works well within a team and independently
