Experienced Diesel Mechanics – Victoria

Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment. Position requires candidate to be a quick learner, self-starter, and team player. Position may require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians. Position may require in field work with use of company service truck. Positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential to success.Responsibilities:Performs repairs and diagnostics requiring extensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and principlesCompletes repairs of equipment correctly and efficientlyIdentifies additional repairs needed to ensure customer satisfactionParticipates in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time and for all material used in performing assigned dutiesExperience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:2+ years of experience performing machine service repairsAgricultural equipment repair experience not requiredMaterial handling, construction, auto, and other equipment/vehicle repair technicians are encouraged to applyAbility to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual proceduresProficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of equipmentAbility to use basic computer functionsAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesProficient oral and written communication skillsAbility to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedlyHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferredValid drivers license is requiredPass background check and pre-employment drug test#J-18808-Ljbffr
