Guest Lawyers is a Brisbane City based law firm, specialising in criminal defence, with Principal, Adam Guest, practicing criminal law for over 20 years.Our firm is a busy and expanding criminal law practice, seeking a highly motivated and passionate lawyer to join our team.This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a firm with a strong sense of purpose and a positive and supportive team culture.The Applicant to have:A current Practising Certificate.2-3 years post-admission experience.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Strong communication, both written and verbal.Professional appearance and a strong work ethic.Willingness to build an understanding of clients and develop effective working relationships.Ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks.Experience in management of both private and legal aid files.Tasks & Responsibilities:Take carriage of a diverse range of criminal law matters from start to finish, including summary matters, indictable matters, and complex crime.Appear in sentences, defended hearings and bail applications in all jurisdictions.Instruct counsel in complex criminal law matters.Negotiate matters with prosecuting authorities.Manage clients.Be able to read briefs and prepare advices to clients.The successful applicant will be responsible for working in criminal law autonomously with support and supervision.
